John JaszczakDr. Jaszczak received his B.S. Physics at Case Western Reserve University, M.S. Physics at Ohio State University and Ph.D. Physics at Ohio State University. Currently he is the adjunct curator of the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum at Michigan Tech, and holds adjunct professor appointments in Michigan Tech's Department of Cognitive and Learning Sciences, Division of Teacher Education, and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He is also the Associate Director for Education and Outreach for Michigan Tech's Multi-Scale Technologies Institute.

Dr. Jaszczak teaches a variety of courses including University Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, Theoretical Mechanics, and Fundamentals of Nanoscale Science and Technology. Professor Jaszczak's research focuses on theory and computer modeling of materials in which interfaces, such as surfaces, grain boundaries or interphase boundaries play an important role. He uses various simulation methods such as Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics, as well as numerical and analytical techniques. His interests include graphite, nanotechnology and molybdenite. Some of his most famous images have been published in Carbon and Science Magazine.
